When the elves awakened under starlight in Middle Earth, they were called to the west by the Valar so that they would be safe from the wrathful vengeance of Morgoth. Valinor is their greatest city in the west and was also know as the city of many bells. Here the elves lived in safety in the glow of the Two Trees.
